What Do We Believe?
The historical beliefs of the Presbyterian Church are detailed and lengthy. Our Book of Confessions is comprised of nine separate documents that set out the church’s
understanding of God and our relationship with God at various times in history. To
introduce you to our beliefs, we offer this "Top 10" list. Please note two
things about this list: first, we could never have a complete list and second, after belief in
God, these beliefs are not in any order of priority.
1. We believe in God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

3. Human beings are separated from God. Romans 3:23
4.Only God can save people. Galatians 3:22-24
5.The Bible is essential in our knowing God. 2 Timothy 3:16
6. God chooses women and men from every background for salvation and service. Ephesians 1:4-5 |
7. Christ is the head of the church. Colossians 1:17-18
8. Jesus is fully human and fully divine. John 14:9-11
9. There are two sacraments: Baptism and The Lord's Supper. Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
10. Christians should belong to a church. Ephesians 2:19; Acts 2:43-47 |
